Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
McHenry, IL
Upgraded audio system including new speakers, amplifiers, mixer. Acoustical work was also required, though not implemented.
| Above - The original speaker system included four 30-year old column speakers which did not cover all of the seating, nor did they provide the required level of fidelity the church desired. |
| Above - The floor is sloped and the ceiling is sloped to the outside walls (both left and right), which creates a number of acoustical issues. In addition, the main laminated trusses cause not only acoustical issues, but difficulties when covering the seating area with direct sound. |
| Above - A horizontal steel mount was installed to carry the load of the two main speakers. |
| Above & Below - View from behind the speakers, during installation. The brackets allowed the speakers to be slid left and right as needed to fine-tune the installation. |
| |
| Above - Due to the height of the laminated beams, the side seating areas would not receive direct sound coverage unless the main speakers were lowered 4-6 feet (not an option), and so fill speakers were required. |
| Above - Barely visible is the fill speaker for the right side seating area - look directly above the pulpit and a little to the left on the laminated beam.... |
| Above - Here you can see both the main speakers and the side fill speaker (in the shadows). |
| Above - When standing at the rear center of the room, the main speakers do not block the view of the cross (which is hanging above the table). |
| Above - New and old equipment located in the side sacristy. A new power panel and LynTec power sequencing system allows a single pair of switches to turn the entire system on and off in the correct order. |
