10 Reasons You Shouldn't Run Sound Every Week!
Burnout
All too common--results when you feel you're "the only one that can do the job right."
Rest
You need time off a job so you can relax, recouperate, and avoid burnout.
Family
You need to spend time sitting with your family during the service, as God loves famileis and church-going is family oriented.
Growth
You need time to be totally involved in a church service so you can learn what's being taught.
Worship
You need time to be totally involved in a church service so you're able to worship your God.
Participation/Service
There are plenty of talented sound people out there who can sing, play instruments, act in drama--don't get stuck behind the mixer!
Others
You need to allow other people the chance to participate in ministry/service.
Flexibility
If you run sound every week or for every event, you can't choose what service(s) to attend nor can you ever experience anything different.
Relationships
If you're always behind the board, when will you ever meet newcomers or even regular attendees you don't know?
Team
The whole idea of having a tech team is many people working together. Because of this, there should always be plenty of people to fill in for you. If not, you need to recruit and train so there are!
