March 2003 Church Visits

While attending the NSCA show in Dallas, I visited a number of churches in the Dallas area, Houston, Galveston, Dumas, Oklahoma City, and Colorado. Below are a few photos of these spaces.

 

 

 

Norman Oklahoma -- After sanctuary renovations, new audio system design and acoustical fixes by Joseph DeBuglio (JdB Sound, Acoustics)
The system install was done by Ford Audio of Oklahoma City who had installed the original system nearly 20 years prior.

 

 

7000 seats, 450 seats in the choir loft.

 

A beautiful church that's had a number of audio systems. There's a distributed system under the pews, another distributed system with speakers mounted on the side pillars, and a horn cluster system to cover the balcony (in addition to the two speakers on the rear wall of the balcony facing toward the platform). Acoustically, this room sound very good, though could still use a little touch-up here and there. Be sure to notice the unusual ceiling detail.
