| This
church had a few old non-diversity wireless microphone systems
that were prone to interference. We installed four new Shure
SC systems; two with handheld mics and two with lavalier microphones.
Each of the four systems fed an RDL 3-band equalizer so the
sound of each microphone could be controlled (the existing mixer
didn't offer any channel EQ control). A Shure antenna distributor
was used to interface (2) 1/2 wave antennas with the four receivers.
The antennas were mounted inside the sanctuary on wooden beams
on the side walls (see the photo below with antenna closeup).
After the installation, one of the Fathers mentioned it took
a few minutes for him to even find the antennas, they blended
in so well!
In addition to the wireless microphone
system, the podium and pulpit microphones were replaced with
Shure Microflex units, a speaker was installed in the cry-room,
and the overall system was cleaned up and tested.
The existing system was desinged
and installed in 1981 by Ancha Electronics-and it still performs
very well to this day. |
